About us

Nestled in the heart of the Wynwood Art District, Cafeina is singular. A joint lounge, gallery and tapas-style restaurant, the eclectic hotspot layers art upon nightlife upon celebrated cuisine for something completely different.

The Miami New Times calls this 23rd Street outpost “the hangout of choice for many locals in the know.” Encompassing all that is exciting about this burgeoning neighborhood, Cafeina is dark, sultry and exotic—a kind of elegant hipster’s paradise. Inside this manor-esque parlor, plush couches and smooth tables sit atop embroidered rugs. A dramatic chandelier gives the room a sensuous, dim glow—and while it’s still bright enough to see your Miniature Kobe Burgers, the room feels swank and sexy.

Then there’s the bar, serving up cocktails like Café con Leche Martinis and Pomegranate Mojitos—fresh, unexpected, divine. Bartenders use ingredients like basil and tamarind syrup, and glasses are swirled with fruit puree. Sitting at the dark wood counter will put you in prime people-watching position: a plus, as the crowd feels as funky-cool as the interior itself.

Outdoors, underneath light-latticed-tree-branches, a DJ spins a clubby mix on an authentic vinyl turntable. (Tired feet will relish comfy hammock beds, perfect for a quick respite from the dance floor.) And you can’t leave without visiting the gallery, which features a rotating collection of drawings, paintings and photographs from local and national artists.

Wynwood Exhibition Center

Adjacent to the Cafeina’s interior lounge is the Wynwood Exhibition Center (WEC), a 1,000-square-foot art gallery that cycles exhibitions monthly.

Showing artists include Pulitzer Prize decorated photojournalist Charles Trainer Jr., ceramic assemblagist and Miami patron of the arts Carlos Alves, and digital art pioneer Laurence Gartel.

” I want our exhibition space to be a compliment to the Wynwood Art District as opposed to a competitor in it. My goal is to create a place where Miami’s artistic minds gather to enjoy, discuss and display the work that drives them.”
